RESEARCH NOTES: Zéphirin Chénier and Marguerite Morin had 10 children, all of whom were born in Angers, QC., except for one, William “Wellie” Joseph (Guillaume), who may have been an adopted child. Personal records for his birth, possible adoption and emmigration to Canada have not been found so far. Recorded emmigration/immigration (cross-border travel) documents to and from Canada to the USA were not recorded until about 1895, therefore documents indicating that at the age of 3/4 years old who was with him when he returned/came to Canada in 1893 are not available.. The 1901 Census of Canada for “Guillaume Chenier Quebec Labelle Masson” indicates that he was born in the USA, but no State is mentioned. That same document indicates he emmigrated to Canada in 1893. But no record of this immigration/emmigration can be found, as previously mentioned above.
So, it is possible that Zéphirin and Marguerite Morin might have adopted this child. However, no proof can be found so far for this possible adoption.

However, I would be greatful for anyone who might have more information regarding William “Willie” Joseph (Guillaume) Chénier, born in the USA.
