Let me start from the emmigrant to Canada. Some of this is fact and some is unproven. The parts I am very sceptical about I will omit. William Avery was born about 1752 (fact), maybe in Groton Connecticut. According to the book The Groton Avery Clan, his parents got married there in 1750. He married a Deliverence (fact). In 1785 he emmigrated to Canada from the Albany area of New York with his wife, and 4 children under 10, 2 boys and 2 girls. He originally settled in Elizabethtown in Ontario Canada but moved to Yonge township. He is listed on the 1795 census for Yonge. We are not sure who his children were that came with him but we do know that he had a son, James in 1789 in Canada. The good news is that your son-in-law (Mike Avery) is related to this James. The bad news is that I'm related to one of the other sons. Another cousin and I have spent years trying to sort it out. James Avery married a Deliverence. They had numerous children, I haven't sorted them all out but one was named William b.1817. He married Lorra Ann Hunt on Dec. 22, 1841. Their children were Laura (Loryann) b.~1843, Mary Louise b.~1851, Richard b.~1853, William Delbert and Charles Wilbert born in ~1859. There are probate records available for William Delbert, I have the Number if you need it. I am communicating with a descendant of either Laura or Mary Louise, if you would like me to forward your e-mail address I will. The biggest problem I have is to figure out where the progenator of the family is from and who the children born in the USA were. There is a story that I've read that the family were pacifists during the Revolutionary War near Cherry Valley NY. Because of this, they were forced out of their home after the war. William brought his family to Canada, got food and shelter at a fort(?). Finially settling in first in Elizabethtown then in Yonge. We have not been able to find any record of him in the USA. A big fire in Cherry Valley in the 1800's destroyed many records. The book mentioned above gives reference to him as from the Groton Avery family, but I hate to accept it as fact. There have been some Crown land claims, but I haven't been too successful at sorting them out. If you know much about how to request documents and what is available, I love to tell you what I know.      Gilberte LEBLANC, was born on 4 April 1921 in Sherbrooke, QC, Canada.¹ She married Eddy CHALOUX on 5 June 1943 in Sherbrooke, QC.¹

     Eddy CHALOUX, was born on 15 October 1918.¹ He married Gilberte LEBLANC, daughter of Cyrille Joseph LEBLANC and Leona (Lucia) Marie Sylvia CHENEY, on 5 June 1943 in Sherbrooke, QC, Canada.¹ He died on 22 September 1967 in Sherbrooke, QC, at the age of 48.¹

     Marcel LEBLANC, was born on 19 February 1922 in Sherbrooke, QC, Canada.¹

     Roger LEBLANC, was born on 24 February 1923 in Sherbrooke, QC, Canada.¹ He died on 4 January 2009 at the age of 85 at the Burnaby Hospital in Vancouver, BC, Canada,² and was buried in January 2009 in St-Michel, Sherbrooke, QC, Canada.³
